This project required me to create a gable box package for a fictional line of sleepwear using any color pallet of my choice, spot or process. I was responsible for brainstorming a concept and target audience, creating a gable box dieline, designing and illustrating, and finally assembling the box.
I began by dissecting an extant gable box, which I measured to create my dieline. I sketched out several concepts, which I narrowed down through further handwork and dummy creation. Ultimately, I chose to create a line of soft, breathable sleep sets aimed at preteen and teen girls. I wanted the brand to be fun, cute, whimsical, and charming while also remaining down to earth. I included a cloud-shaped window with a cardboard-backed fabric swatch to allow customers to feel the product.
