This project challenged me to recreate a famous piece of art using scribbles. I chose one of my favorite paintings, Ophelia by Sir John Everett Millais. I began by quickly establishing the layout of the piece, then started filling the page with texture. I allowed myself to define the shape of objects using quick sketchy lines, but shaded only by building up scribbles, paying more attention to value than form. I also replaced the flowers in Ophelia's bouquet and on the bushes with watching eyes to give the piece a more sinister feeling than the original.
